I just jacked in my shit job on Friday as it was making me loose faith in humanity in general and Australia in particular. Hurrah! This gives me plenty of free time to write some rubbish on here, so I decided to finish off this artical that I started in Malaysia. Here it is:
In the quest to find out who is the Mummy and the Daddy of all Nations I have devised a very cunning formula and visited many countries. You can now find out who wins as the best country in Asia. (It turns out its Laos after all that - second one we went to - I thought it was Borneo myself but you can't argue with the formula)
The formula is thus:
(atmosphere x food) - (scariness x toilet badness) + environment = Greatness of Country
Dan has added extra discretionary points for musical taste and ability of the countries inhabitants - I think that Donk core would be Laos's downfall here.

As Pakse was quite deserted we went for a look around the Bolaven Plateau and stumbled upon a village where the children have found something even more amusing than running round naked in the dust. And what could be more exciting than having a naked frolic in the dust spray from passing vehicles? Smoking fags and bongs of course! Drugs of choice: Tobbacco and sugar cane.

In Southern Laos, the answer is no. Not really. We've journeyed down through Savannakhet and now are in Pakse on various slightly dodgy buses that have peoples whole house full of furniture in the isle along with people eating rotten eggs on sticks and whole chicken road kills and various animals. I can see why bird flu got to the humans in asia now...

I'd like to start by dedicating this entry to the people we are secretly stalking around South East Asia -Jez and Helen, before getting on to some interesting things about Laos.
Truely BeerLao is great! A fine tasting pale ale. The Lao people kick butt at alcohol almost as much as the Japanese do...

Theres now three new sets of photos up as we've not uploaded any for ages. Most are them are of our Laos travels so far. It's a pretty-ass place, it is.
There's also some pictures from Pai in Thailand. That should bore your boobs off. View hard, people!
